Short version: the current lifetime purchase limit is 10,000 MH/s per coin per miner. Standard sliders run from 10 MH/s to 900 MH/s; "whale mode" opens the slider all the way up to the cap. Hash power earned through commissions is not counted against the limit.
What the cap is today
10 – 900 MH/s
The normal slider range for a single order, in 10 MH/s steps.
10,000 MH/s
Lifetime purchase maximum per coin. Whale mode unlocks the slider up to it; the system enforces the total across every order you place.
Unlimited earned
Hash power earned through commissions — including hash lock multipliers — has no cap at all.
Why cap purchases at all?
Daily rewards are shared proportionally across all hash power in the mine. If a handful of buyers could purchase an unlimited share, they'd own the reward stream and everyone else's slice would shrink for reasons that have nothing to do with effort. The cap keeps the distribution broad, keeps new miners meaningful, and keeps the biggest holders honest — they got there by building, not by buying.
It also matters for the health of the network. A mine where hash power tracks participation is far more resilient than one where it tracks bank balances.
The limit changes over time
The purchase limit isn't a constitutional amendment — it has moved before and it will move again as the mine grows, as supply changes, and as the community weighs in. When it changes, this page is updated and the new limit is enforced immediately across /join and the in-dashboard top-up flow.
The way around the cap: earn it
Nothing stops you from ending up with far more than 10,000 MH/s — you just have to earn the rest. Take your weekly commissions in hash power instead of cash, and commit to a term to multiply it: BOGO, TROGO and QUOGO explained.
